YOUR PLACEMENT with a HOSPITAL
Can be filed within 4 weeks from when you pass the exam.
You can come to the USA in 8 to 12 months with a green card which is a
permanent immigrant status.
1.You will be directly employed by a hospital.
2.The hospitals are in Arizona -Tempe, Phoenix and Mesa,
3.Phoenix is a modern city and growing fast.
4.The terms are a 3-year contract with these excellent hospitals.
5. The normal workweek is 40 hours and the wage scale actually run from $18.50
to $27. In addition you will get an afternoon or night shift differential of
$2 to $3 per hour as well as BSN differential of $0.50cents and specialty
differential if ICU nurses. Some hospitals pay a weekend differential as
well. However most nurses come in at around $22 to $23 for Med/Surg. As
always, you get 1.5 times for the OT work.
6. Further you are provided 6 weeks of free accommodation and medical
insurance for you and your family. You will be received and transferred and
will receive help integrating into the community, help with finding
transportation, banking etc.
You will we working as a CNA from day one and can save money during this
period for accommodation.
Accommodation for the first 6 weeks will be close to the hospital and then you
will be given help to find accommodation close to either the hospital or
reliable public transportation. Just for your info, the cost of living in AZ
is considerably cheaper. A typical one-bedroom efficiency should be enough for
most people and will cost around $400/a month. Very often nurses get together
and share an apartment. One can also get cheaper weekly motel rental rates
especially at the motels in Arizona.
7. You will start working as a CNA from the first week itself.
8.You will be paid between $11 to $15 per hour depending again on the shift
you select.
9.You are to prepare for the NCLEX prior to leaving as well as after arriving.
The hospital will provide access to a computer and some training materials .We
would also send you some training materials. It is necessary for you to make
the necessary effort too.
10. You have two chances to pass the NCLEX.
11.If you fail in the NCLEX the first time, you will be responsible for fees
the second time around.
12. You will be sent an employment contract for signature.
13.The sponsor or authorized person/firm will meet your expenses for visa
screen etc, if not already obtained, once the filing of your case with the INS
has been effected.
14.You will get full benefits including medical, 401K,educational help etc
from the hospital. You will get medical for yourself and your family from the
day you arrive to fill the gap between the first benefits filing period, which
will be within 30 to 45 days. All benefits will be started from that date.
You get continuing education and college assistance. You also they get 22
paid days off a year as well as 6 sick days. You can also take a leave of
absence to have a child etc.
15. Costs that you may have incurred yourself for the CGFNS fees, IELTS fees,
coaching etc will be reimbursed to you only after arrival and starting work as
CNA with the employer hospital.
16.You are responsible for attorney fees, visas, tickets etc for your family
members. It could approximately be in the range of around $600 plus the ticket
per family member. This fee includes attorney fees, visa fees, administrative
expenses etc.
17. The employer will be taking up your case for processing in good faith.
Hence integrity of the maintaining the agreement is implied. Please be advised
that once your papers are processed and filed and you fail to join, you are
liable to refund all costs incurred on your behalf.
18.You will sign an MOU confirming the same before the process for employment
is started. There will be one or more telephonic interviews. You will need to
let us know the correct contact numbers and the best times. Keep in mind the
time difference. Hence you may have to adjust a little to the convenience of
the interviewer.
Once the MOU's, resumes and times available for interview have been received,
the interview will be set up within 1 week for the nurse.
Also, once selected, the papers for the filing will be prepared and sent to
you for signatures and the I-140 PETITION will be filed within 30 days.
20.There will be a deduction by the hospital of a total of USD 3500/ spread
over one year from the wages, being part of the expenses incurred in bringing
in an overseas nurse.
This will be by way of an addendum to the employment contract.
21. You will get annual raises based on performance.
22. You have the liberty to relocate to any place in the US after the contract
period. Please note that by then you have become a nurses who has the
experience of working for a few years in a hospital in the USA. That makes you
all the more marketable.
Note :
Technically we should really calculate from the time they qualify - pass the
required exams of CGFNS -commission FOR foreign GRADUATE NURSES and IELTS
-International English language testing service.
The clock starts ticking from the time their papers are filed for the Green
card . From then, normally 8 to 12 months. Because it is the Green card.

MOU is the memorandum of understanding between the nurse and the one who is placing her. Mainly intended as a protection against reneging a contract etc

Filing for your papers with INS
The exams are second on the list
The cgfns EXAMS held three to four times a year only , depending on the
countries.
IELTS can be taken periodically and is organized through British councils.
Only if these two are completed does a nurse become an eligible candidate for
USA.
The FINAL CG CERTIFICATE WILL BE ISSUED ONLY IF THE IELTS IS ALSO COMPLETE.
Later, after arrival in USA, the nurses would have to first take the NCLEX
before they can work as an RN.
